Touching On Retail

The Coop have launched an enormous campaign on sustainability and provenance yet I just bought a punnet of strawberries from Spain from Coop.

    Another retailer contradiction! I stopped off at an M&S service station food store on Sunday and was charged 5p for a bag to carry purchases. I know the mults are trying to cut down on plastic bags for well broadcast reasons, but whilst M&S are making a big CSR driven noise about their environmental contribution, charging for bags is surely just another income stream! Maybe the money raised is going towards some environmental initiative but none of the staff knew anything about it if that’s the case…
